BLACK INDUSTRIAL TPV
A heavy duty finger-pinch protection device (anti-finger-trapping hinge guard) designed for use with exterior or interior gates and doors. They are able to be used on timber and steel hinged/pivoting gates and doors.
Blind material: TPV (ThermoPlastic Vulcanizate polymer).
Blind colour: Black.
Anodised Aluminium guard strip carrier. Push-in trim to conceal fixings.
Self drilling screws included.
Minimum 35mm door thickness.
Low compression set and flex fatigue resistance.
Low maintenance – wipe clean finish.

WHAT IS TVP?
TPV (ThermoPlastic Vulcanizate polymer) is a compound composed of Polypropylene and EPDM rubber used in vehicle, white goods and weatherproofing applications. It can also be readily recycled.
TVP has good environmental temperature performance (both low and high).
Plus TPV has greater tear strength and resistance than EPDM. It also has excellent resistance to common industrial chemicals.

WHY USE FINGER GUARDS?
Finger guards provide protection in any environment where there is a risk of children and adults getting their fingers (or hands) trapped in the hinge gap of gates or doorframes.
As a closing gate or door can exert an immense amount of force on anything trapped hinge gaps. This can result in serious injuries that have long term effects and may require significant hospital treatment.
The NHS has published extrapolated data suggesting that there are approximately 80,000 finger trapping incidents a year. The majority includes children who have been seriously injured.
WHERE TO USE FINGER GUARDS?
Finger guards assure safety on any gate or door where fingers (or hands) could potentially get caught
in between the gate/door and the frame.
These finger guards can also be installed on automated external gates and interior doors in residential, industrial or commercial settings such as shops, offices and other busy buildings such as schools.
For example, schools and childcare centres are an area of high risk due to children suffering a disproportionate number of finger entrapment injuries because of their lack of understanding of the dangers presented by gates and doors, young children may put their fingers into the gap between a gate/door and its frame without any awareness of the possible consequences.
